MATERIALS / BUYER GUIDE

Fabrics for your collection.

Connect the garment to its material, from match jerseys and travel layers to gi, no-gi and ring apparel.

Explore 27 fabric and trim families across the current collection. These are proposed sourcing options, rather than a confirmed stock list. Final composition, construction, weight, colour, finish and availability are agreed against the selected fabric sheet and swatch.

01 / READ THE SPECIFICATION

A useful brief goes beyond the fabric name.

GSM is fabric mass in grams per square metre. It helps describe weight, but does not establish strength, opacity or performance on its own. Compare materials with the same construction and intended use.

Composition

State the fibre percentages. Polyester, cotton, polyamide and elastane affect how the fabric can be decorated and how it feels; the selected blend still needs a supplier sheet.

Construction

Jersey, interlock, mesh, tricot, twill and satin describe different textile structures. A trade name can cover more than one structure.

Weight & dimensions

Record target GSM, finished width and tolerances. For socks and narrow trims, specify yarn, gauge, dimensions and stretch rather than inventing a comparable flat-fabric weight.

Finish & testing

Confirm shrinkage, stretch and recovery, colourfastness, snag or abrasion behaviour, and compatibility with the intended decoration. Claim wicking, UPF, antibacterial treatment, waterproofing or recycled content only when the selected fabric is supported by evidence.

02 / MATERIAL FAMILIES

All numerical ranges below are proposed brief ranges, not universal standards or verified Oversky specifications. Named supplier examples show that a construction exists; they do not identify an Oversky supplier or available fabric.

03 / GARMENT USES

Find the material questions for your sport.

The groups below follow the existing collection pages. Their material links are options to discuss and test against the garment; they do not confirm stock, event approval or protective performance. Optional garments remain subject to specification and quotation.

04 / DECORATION & SWATCHES

Test the artwork on the selected textile.

Sublimation

For compatible polyester-rich fabrics, review colour and transfer behaviour on the intended base cloth. Fibre blend, base colour and the selected print process affect the result.

Screen printing

Match ink and curing to the fabric and the print’s required stretch. Review the print on the chosen material before agreeing repeat production.

Embroidery

Review stitch density, backing and placement on a sample. A light stretch top and a woven travel layer can need different embroidery treatments.

05 / YOUR MATERIAL BRIEF

Send the garment and material reference together.

List the sport, garment, intended use, target composition and weight, stretch preference, decoration, size quantities and delivery destination. Add a fabric code or reference swatch if you have one. Selected materials and availability are confirmed before the garment specification is agreed.
